[dropcap]B[/dropcap]ringing home a bengal kitten is certainly a fun and exciting time, but it’s also a time for lots of surprises. No matter how much research you have completed before you bring your Bengal home, they’re sure to surprise you with how much mischief they can get into and just how much personality they really have.
Rumple, the star of this video clip is a prime example of the playful nature of the Bengal breed. However he is also a prime example of the amount of interaction they crave. Rumple jumps from countertops and tables right into his owners arms, or right on his back as he is looking in the fridge.
This may seem like a cute trick, but it shows the true neediness of the breed and the love they have for their owners. Bengals like Rumple love to be right at their owners side (or shoulder!), as they are very social creatures.
However if not addressed, this may become more than just play time for your Bengal. Some owners report their cats obsessively jumping on them and needing to be carried. As with any trick or behaviour, never reward unwanted behaviour. This could be simply allowing your bengal to jump in your arms while cooking or cleaning, and allowing them to remain on you rather than placing them back on the ground.
We think Rumple is absolutely adorable though and quite the gymnast. He seems smitten with his owners and them of him!
