[dropcap]B[/dropcap]engals can jump higher than most breeds but who would win if a Bengal cat had to compete against the current world record holder in the high jump, Javier Sotomayor ?
The human would win but if there was no difference in size, a cat would win hands down. In equal proportion, not only the cat would beat us but he would even beat the Olympic champion and current record holder in pole vaulting (Renaud Lavillenie) without using a pole.
The average cat is 1 feet. A normal cat can jump 5 to 6 times its height. A Bengal, up to 7 times its height. A Bengal or a Main Coon might be able to touch the bar but it would be a world record for cats. He certainly wouldn’t be able to go over a bar set to a height of 2.45 m (8 ft 01⁄4 in).
Nya-Suke can jump over 6 and a half feet in the air, which means with just a little more training, he could possibly jump over Shaquille O’Neal! Watch this cat’s amazing athletic abilities in slow motion as he jumps to the ceiling from a total standstill.
